Your Right To Receive A Good Faith Estimate

Effective Date: 02/01/2024

Under federal law, healthcare providers are required to give patients who do not have insurance, or who choose not to use insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate showing the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services.

You may request a Good Faith Estimate from your healthcare provider, as well as from any other provider you choose, before scheduling a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than the amount listed on your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill. Be sure to keep a copy or photo of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
